Carl Dillon Hollingsworth, a beloved member of the community, passed away on November 8, 2023, in Jackson, Mississippi. Born on November 23, 1945, in Jackson to Neal Dillon Hollingsworth and Irene Ables Hollingsworth, Carl led a life filled with dedication to his family and numerous accomplishments.

Carl retired from his career as the facilities designer at AT&T after an impressive 51 years of service. His commitment and expertise earned him the respect of his colleagues and made him an integral part of the company. Additionally, Carl served his country with pride as a 1st Sergeant in the United States Army Reserve before retiring.

While Carl found fulfillment in his professional life, his true happiness resided in his family. He was a devoted husband to Peggy Pryor Hollingsworth for 38 wonderful years. Their bond served as an inspiration to all who knew them. Carl's son, Daniel Smith (Jennifer), was a source of immense pride and joy for him. However, it was his granddaughter, Molly Faith Smith, who truly brought light into his life. Molly held a special place in Carl's heart, and he cherished every moment spent with her.

Beyond his role as a loving husband, father, and grandfather, Carl had many passions outside of work. He had a deep fondness for farming and took pleasure in tending to his chickens and cattle as well as baling hay. His connection to nature allowed him to appreciate the simple joys of life.

In addition to working the land, Carl possessed musical talent that touched the hearts of many. He had a beautiful singing voice and enjoyed singing gospel music, as well as the Blues. Over the years, he lent his voice to numerous funerals, church events, and other gatherings where he provided solace through song.

Carl loved his church - First Baptist Church of Byram where he was an active member. He held his faith close to his heart and served as a shining example of faith and devotion.

Carl was preceded in death by his loving parents, Neal Dillon Hollingsworth and Irene Ables Hollingsworth.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Peggy; a son, Daniel Smith and his wife, Jennifer, and his precious granddaughter, Molly, Carl is survived by his sister Becky Sykes (H.R.) of Byram, niece Kelly Roundtree (Greg) Barnett of Flowood, as well as great niece and nephews Carly and Landry Barnett.
