B.F. Stephens, 92, passed away on September 19, 2025. B.F. was born on July 23, 1933, in Collinsville, MS. B.F. was preceded in death by his parents, the late Buren and Beulah Stephens, sisters, Ammie Van Houson, Bobbie Irby, brothers, Kermit Stephens and Carl Stephens.
B.F. and Lucy lived in Laurel the first three years of their marriage then moved to Jackson. B.F. worked at American Can Company for 8 years. Later moving to Florence working as production manager at The Congregational Methodist’s Messenger Press until it closed down. B.F. and Lucy opened the family business, Stephens Printing in 1979.
B.F. married Lucy Lee Cousins in1962, in Collinsville MS at Prospect Church and celebrated their 63rd anniversary on January 28, of 2025.
B.F. was well known for his ability to accomplish almost any task he set his mind to. From accounting, machine mastery, electricity, plumbing, home building and a knack for being the person who was able to guide his family through difficult places and celebrate all of their successes. B.F. loved his life, his family and most of all his wife Lucy. B.F. spent most of his last 20 years celebrating life with his family and planning for his wife’s transition into life without him because he was 8 years older than her. B.F. knew what was important and he lived life in a way that taught others by the way the example he lived. God, family and work, he took all of them seriously and lived by that creed and encouraged others to do the same.
Visitation will be Sunday, September 21, 2025, from 4-6 pm at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence, MS. Funeral services will follow on Monday, September 22, 2025 at 10:00 A.M. from Chancellor Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Cregg Puckett officiating and assisted by Reverend Ron Laney. Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery, officiated by Reverend Len McRaney.
Survivors include one daughter, Karen Stephens Forkin (Tayloe) and two sons, Edward B. Stephens (Staci), David W. Stephens all of Florence MS: 9 grandchildren, Matthew Howard, Jade Stephens (Aaron), Amanda Sutherland (Nick), Meghin Hamilton (Bryan), Ty Stephens (Breanna), Makayla Stephens, Delia Stephens, Cade Stephens, Lucinda Stephens, and Kaine Stephens: 10 great-grandchildren, Zane Roberts, Brooklyn Roberts, Jaxon Howard, Camden Howard, Noah Sutherland, Marlie Sutherland, Michael Hamilton, Maddex Hamilton, 2 more due any day now, niece Carolyn Redding and 2 nephews, Richard McRaney and Len McRaney.
Pallbearers will be David Stephens, Ty Stephens, Zane Roberts, Aaron Betts, Nick Sutherland, Jaxon Howard and Jade Stephens.
