Bryan Speed

Bryan Hudson Speed, Jr., of Raymond, MS, was born March 2, 1952, in Conroe, Texas. He was the third child born to Hudson Speed and Margarett Chandler Speed. He is survived by five siblings: Rick Speed of Hattiesburg, Eddie Speed (Martha) of Argyle, TX, Gloria Speed Barnes (Bill) of Braxton, Kay Speed Pape (Billy) of Raymond, and Leisa Speed Rayborn of Braxton, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Bryan will always be known for his positive attitude about every aspect of life, even through serious health issues that he encountered. Bryan attended First Baptist Church, Raymond, and often expressed his belief and faith in Jesus as his Lord and Savior. He loved family gatherings and time with longtime friends. For most of his adult life, Bryan worked as a master tile setter/hardwood floor installer. He was creative, skillful and worked in many high end residences and businesses, including Graceland, in Memphis and throughout the country. 

He was an accomplished guitar player and was affiliated with the Coon Elder band in previous years. He was also a medic in the Mississippi National Guard 134th Combat Support Hospital, serving 1970-1976. He was a 1970 graduate of Wingfield High School in Jackson.

Bryan passed into eternity in Heaven on Monday, January 5, 2026. Memorial service will be at Chancellors Funeral Home in Byram on Friday, January 9, 2026, at 3 pm. The family requests donations to Leaf River Baptist Church, Collins, MS, in lieu of flowers.
