Bobby Joe Parker, know to most as Bob, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, in Brandon, MS. He was 91 years old. The family will receive friends and extended family for visitation from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 31, 2025, and again on Friday, August 1, 2025, from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence, MS. The funeral service begins at 2:00 p.m. followed by burial in the Garden of Memories.
Bob was born on June 3, 1934, to Clarence Parker and Bonnie Birch Parker in Hazel, North Carolina. He served his country with the United States Navy. Bob retired after 35 years as a truck hauler for Allied Systems. He loved gardening and doing yard work. Bob enjoyed boating and buying and selling any thing he could make money on, or not. His favorite past time was watching the classics: Gunsmoke, Andy Griffith, and Sanford & Son. He will truly be missed.
Bob is preceded in death by parents; Bergin and Bonnie Parker; wife, Alice Parker in 2019; children, Kathy Norfleet, Pastor Gene Parker, Butch Parker, and Douglas Simmons; and his sisters, beloved Mae Connely, and Martha Mathiston. He is survived by his daughter, Connie Lockhart (Richard) of Pearl, MS; son, Mark Parker of Florence, MS; grandchildren, Daniel Parker, Amanda Parker, Lisa Dobbs, Robbie Simmons, Jeremy Van Winkle, Brandon Roberson, Bobby Wilson, and Karen Bagwell; 13 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; sister, Mary Ann Smith of North Carolina; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
