Surrounded here by his family and welcomed into eternity by those loved ones gone on before him and his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Billy was born to James Mathias and Emma Jewel Moss Moudy on December 4, 1951, in Kosciusko, MS.
Billy was a steel fabricator by trade and put his hard work and ethical values into all he did. He was a family man, who loved deeply and always put his family first, loving them unconditionally; especially his grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. It was said about Billy that he was the example of what a Godly man, husband, father, and just the example of what an overall person was supposed to be. He truly lived out the values and direction of Christ, which was to love God first and then to love your neighbor as yourself. If you knew Billy, well that usually meant he often brightened your day either with his trademark smile or some joke that he would tell you; for he believed that laughter was true medicine. Billy never met a stranger; he loved everyone and was loved by everyone who knew him; he had a servant's heart and would give you the shirt off his back if he knew it would help you. There are people in your life that you meet once and remember a lifetime, and Billy Ray Moudy was one of those people, his legacy will leave a long-lasting impact on all those who knew him and he will be deeply missed and always loved.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents; James Mathias Moudy and Emma Jewel Moss Moudy, his wife; Ruth Moudy, brothers; Terry Lamar Moudy and Bennie Joe "Boe" Moudy, and his great granddaughter Lillian Moudy.
Those left to cherish his memories are his beloved wife of 14 years whom he loved dearly and spent every day with, Mrs. Flora Moudy of Florence, Ms; his children, Lisa Dixon (Steve) of Yazoo City, MS, Todd Moudy, Troy Moudy (Cindy) of Carthage, MS, and Chris Baker (Hope) of Ridgeland; siblings, James Arthur Moudy (Sarah), Bobbie Daniel Moudy (Betty), Joe Ann Parker( Billy Dale), Nancy Elaine Powell(Danny); sister in laws, Katie Moudy and Robin Moudy; grandchildren, Chris Bryant (Rachel), Erin Moudy, Caylee Moudy, Tyler Bryant (Haley), Mackenzie Moudy, Miranda Moudy, Madelyn Moudy, and Luke Baker, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild, along with a multitude of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
