Betty Jean Squires

Betty Jean Squires retreated into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, in Jackson, MS. She was 81 years old. The family will receive friends for visitation from 2:00-3:00 p.m. on Friday, February 16, 2024, at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. The Celebration of Life will follow at 3:00 p.m.

Betty was born on December 1, 1942, to Clifton and Eletha Hales in Flora, MS. She was raised in Canton but has lived in Rankin County since 1975. She attended Lakeshore Baptist Church in Florence. She and her husband met and work together at Regal Manufacturing. Her life revolved around her children, and she loved them dearly. Betty enjoyed fishing and caring for her grandchildren. They brought her so much joy. Mrs. Betty LOVED Elvis Presley and was a HUGE fan.

Betty is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Jack W. Squires (died 2009); parents, Clifton and Eletha Hales; daughter, Judy Squires Jackson; son, Gary Squires; brothers, Jimmy and Carl Hales; and her sisters, Lilly McKay, and Joan Huddleston. She is survived by her sons, Jackie Squires (Ginny) of Florence and Scottie Squires of Florence; daughter, Donna Blackstock (Jimmy Wayne) of Puckett; grandchildren, Hunter Squires (Jessica), Kisha Squires, Cory Squires, Zach Squires, Jonathan Jackson, Christopher Jackson, Gary Squires Jr., William Squires, Kathy Posey, Pamela Moore, and Kimberly Stewart; and a host of great and great great grandchildren.
