Asie Allen Upchurch of Florence, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2026. He was born in Choctaw County, MS on August 25, 1934. He was the son of Ulen and Mozell Upchurch, and he was the oldest of 8 children.

After receiving his associate degree in electronics, he started a career with Unisys Corporation that spanned several decades. He was a Field Engineer who retired in 1995. In addition to his career with Unisys, he served honorably with the United States Army, and he was a very proud veteran.

He was a devout Christian, and he trusted the Lord with all his heart. He served as deacon at Byram Assembly of God for many years and was an excellent Sunday School teacher. His dedication carried over to his family where he enjoyed eating family meals, and spending holidays with children and grandchildren. He loved to fish, but he wouldn't fish on Sunday. Sunday was the Lord's Day.

Asie enjoyed watching Ole Miss football and baseball games. In addition, he coached several of the grandchildren's baseball teams. He enjoyed cruising and taking bus trips with travel clubs. He traveled to many states and countries, but one of his favorite trips was to the Holy Land.

Asie was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Sarah Frances McNair Upchurch; four brothers and one sister. He is survived by his wife, Sarah Shanahan Upchurch of Florence, MS; his son Roger Upchurch (Charlotte) of Edwards; his daughters Cathy Herrington (Ricky) of Florence and Anita Brown (Todd) of Florence; his step-son Mike Robertson (Kim) of Crystal Springs; 14 grandchildren; numerous great and great great grandchildren; his brother, Jerry Upchurch (Sherry) of Carrollton; his sister Beatrice Ellis of Greenwood; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Those wishing to pay their respects and honor Asie Upchurch's life are invited to the following services at Chancellor Funeral Home Florence, 2576 US 49, Florence, MS 39073. Visitation will be held on June 23, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A viewing will take place on June 24, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at the Garden of Memories immediately afterward. The pallbearers are Austin Brown, Brent Herrington, David Herrington, Jesse Martin, Adam Robertson and Justin Robertson.

Asie's 91 years of life was a testament to the power of faith and family. He will be deeply missed, treasured, and forever loved.
