Mrs. Willie "Jewel" Harkins

Mrs. Willie Jewel Harkins, 79, passed into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at Chateau Ridgeland in Ridgeland, MS. The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday, June 8, 2019 from 9:00 until the 11:00 a.m. Funeral Service at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence, MS. A Graveside Service will be held on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Beal Memorial Cemetery in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. Mrs. Harkins was born to Obie and Velma Whitehead in Ft. Walton Beach, FL. She worked for several years in cosmetics sales at Gayfer’s Department store, before retiring from Dillard’s. When she lived in Florida, she attended Calvary Baptist Church in Ft. Walton Beach. She moved to Mississippi 7 years ago and attended Antioch Baptist Church in Pearl, MS. Along with her parents, Mrs. Harkins is reunited with her brother, Billy Joe Whitehead. She is survived by her children, Tina (Joseph) Fabian of Florence, Billy (Keri) Harkins of Ft Walton Beach, FL, and Scott (Angie) Harkins of Baker, FL; brother, Rick Whitehead of DeFuniak Springs, FL; sisters, Lillie Mae Kistner of Ft Walton Beach, FL and Lillian MeMahon of Rhode Island; 5 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.
