William "Freddie" Lewis

March 13, 1941 — July 14, 2018

Fred Lewis, 77, died Saturday, July 14, 2018 at his residence in Terry, MS. Visitation will be Monday, July 16, 2018 from 5-7pm at Chancellor Funeral Home and Tuesday, July 17 from 11am until the 12 pm memorial service at Alta Woods United Methodist Church. Mr. Lewis was born March 13, 1941 in Hinds County, to Willie Fred and Mozelle Peden Lewis. A lifelong resident of Hinds County, he was a graduate of Byram High School and Mississippi State University. He was an Insurance Safety Director for MFC services, retiring after 28 years. He served for 6 years in the Air National Guard. Fred was a member of Alta Woods United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Hinds County MS Cattleman’s Association. He is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Lewis of Terry; sons, Greg Lewis of Terry, Brad Lewis (Fran) of Longview, TX and Kyle Lewis (Patti) of Byram; brother, Harvey S. Lewis (Di Ann) of St Petersburg, FL and 4 grandchildren, Justin and Jacob Lewis and Katie and Maddie Lewis. In Lieu of Flowers donations may be made to Alta Woods United Methodist Church or Hinds County Cattleman’s Association Scholarship Fund.
