Mrs. Ruth Aletha Smith

Ruth Aletha Smith, 94, passed away at Manhattan Nursing Home on Sunday, March 12,2017. A Memorial Service will be at Star Baptist Church on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 10:00 AM with visitation one hour prior. Mrs. Smith was lifelong resident of Star where she was a homemaker. When she was able to, she enjoyed reading, gardening and working in her flower beds. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Smith; son, Jimmy Smith; father and mother, John and Armetta Allbritton; brothers, John Jr. and Herbert Allbritton; sisters, Navis Travis and Bobby Shannon. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Brugere of Star; son, Gary (Jackie) Smith of Allen, TX; grandchildren, John Brugere of Star, MS, Frankie (Mickey) Musgrove of Star, MS, Jason Smith of Portland, OR, Josh (Ashley) Smith of Frisco, TX, Joseph Smith of Allen, TX, and Amanda (Mark) Fleischer of Frisco, TX; great grandchildren, Brooke, Morgan and Bryce Musgrove of Star, MS, Francis Smith of Portland, OR, Liam and Olivia Smith of Frisco, TX, and Emily, Elliott, and Henry Fleischer of Frisco, TX; sister, Melinda (Ralph) DiGiovanni of Tyler, TX; brother, Pete (Cindy) Allbritton of Braxton, MS, special nephew E.B. (Danette) Cooper of Tyler, TX and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. The family wishes to send their gratitude to Billie Brown for taking care of Mother at home and in the nursing home.
