Mr. Ray Chalk

d. October 16, 2017

Christopher “Ray” Chalk, 68, passed away peacefully Monday, October 16, 2017 at his home in Richland. A Celebration of his Life, complete with Military Honors, will be Thursday, October 19th at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until the 7:00 p.m. service at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Ray was a loving husband, Daddy, and PawPaw. He was “Uncle Ray” to many family and friends. Ray was a proud member of the United States Marine Corp. He enjoyed grilling and cooking for his family and friends. Ray was full of life, always making everyone laugh. He was a hard worker who wanted the best for his family. His job took him all over the country and he had work “family” that loved him. He took joy in spending time with his family and watching his granddaughter, Ally, grow up. He was, as well, an active family man and was always there when anyone needed him. Mr. Chalk is preceded in death by his biological parents; his son, Chuck Coleman; his sisters, Gale Pittman and Charlene Way; and brother-in-law, James Smith. He is survived by his wife, of 35 years, Darlene Chalk of Richland; parents, Lavel and Elizabeth Chalk of Mendenhall; children, Stacie Chalk of Mansfield, OH; Christina (Daniel) Cooper of Richland, MS and Shane (Susie) VanDusen of Zaneville, OH; brother, Stan Coleman of Brandon, MS; sister, Frances Smith of Mendenhall; and his grandchildren, Allanna Nichols, Courtney VanDusen, Cade VanDusen, and Hollee VanDusen.
