Mr. Percy Wayne Bufkin

Percy Wayne Bufkin, 89, passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2021. A memorial service will be held December 3, 2022, Visitation from 11AM - 12PM, and service at 12 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram, Mississippi. A resident of South Jackson for 61 years, Mr. Bufkin was born on July 03, 1932 in Utica, MS, where he grew up raising cattle on a dairy farm. After serving in the US Navy, he was employed with the Illinois Central Railroad, retiring as a switchman. In his spare time, Percy loved gardening. He was a member of Oak Forest Baptist Church. Along with his parents, Robert and Rosa Moody Bufkin, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette Bufkin and six siblings. He is survived by daughters, Gwen and Gretchen Parker, both of Jackson; son, Carson Bufkin of Jackson; sisters, Marie Blush of Clinton and Grace Lorine Oberhousen of Raymond; brother, Jimmy Bufkin of Louisiana; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
