Mrs. Miriam Ellis

May 6, 1931 — June 24, 2020

Mrs. Miriam Ellis, 89, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at her home in Richland. Visitation will be 5-7pm Saturday, June 27, 2020 at First Baptist Church of Richland. Graveside Funeral Services will be held 3pm Sunday, June 28, 2020 at Friendship Cemetery in Columbus, MS with Rev. Kevin Jones officiating. Mrs. Ellis was born in Tupelo to Archie Jackson and Roberta Valliant Stacy. She was a graduate of Blue Mountain College and taught in the Columbus City Schools. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Richland where she enjoyed singing and serving her Lord with her church family. She was so special and loved so many in the church. Her true love was her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. Ellis is preceded in death by her husband William “Chubby” Ellis, her parents, and her brother, Jack Stacy. She is survived by her sons, Charles “Chuck” Ellis (Carmen), of Columbus and William “Bill” Ellis (Peggy), of Alexandria, LA; her daughter, Stacy Burns ( Clay), of Richland; her sister, Peggy Taylor (Larry), of Jackson; her grandchildren, Morgan Couvillion, Taylor Ellis, Brandon Burns, Payton Burns (Katie), McKenzie Ellis, Hanna Ellis, Anna Claire May (Seth), Callie Burns, Allie Netherland (Scott); and 5 great grandchildren.
