Mrs. Maxine Vaughn

December 30, 1936 — August 8, 2018

Maxine Speaks Vaughn, 81, passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. Visitation will be Saturday, August 11 from 9:00AM until the 11:00 AM Funeral Service at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Burial will follow at Florence City Cemetery. Mrs. Vaughn lived in Florence, MS most of her life. She was the widow of Shalley Vaughn. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Florence for many years. She worked for the Rankin County School System and was a housekeeper for Hemphill and Whites Construction company for many years. She most recently retired from MS Industries for the Blind where she was an administrative assistant. She loved her family and loved to work in her yard. She spent countless hours making her yard beautiful and enjoyed God’s Creation in her flowers. She inherited this from her mother, Lola Clark, who also loved her yard. Mrs. Vaughn is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Hal) Blackwell of Florence; two sons, Kevin (Dana) Vaughn of Florence and Jeffrey (Gina) Vaughn of Florence; 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Florence Food Pantry.
