Mrs. Mathia "Auntie" Swartz

Mathia Maggie Floyd Swartz, 81, passed away Thursday, September 6, 2018 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. Visitation will be 5-8pm Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Funeral services will be 11am Monday, September 10, 2018 at Fellowship Baptist Church, 3823 S. Siwell Rd. Jackson, MS 39212 with a one hour visitation prior to service time at the church. Interment will follow at 2pm at Everett Cemetery in Mendenhall. Mrs. Swartz was born in Mendenhall, Ms to the late William “Bill” Floyd and Alma Dawson Floyd. She lived in Raymond for over 21 years having come from South Jackson. She loved her church and was an active member of Fellowship Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for 35 years and sang in the choir. Mrs. Swartz enjoyed fishing, gardening and the outdoors. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Morris Swartz and siblings, Prentiss and R.W. “Dub” Floyd and Katie Boyles. Survivors include her brother, Dr. Carl Floyd (Linda) and a number of nieces and nephews.
