Mrs. Margaret Ann Tackett Watkins

Margaret Ann Tackett Watkins, 81, passed away peacefully Thursday, November 25, 2021 at her home in Clinton, MS. Visitation will be Monday, November 29, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram, MS. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel followed by interment at Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson, MS. Margaret was born in Greenwood, MS to the late Annie Grace Holland Tackett and Louis Abner Tackett. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, James L. “Jim” Watkins. She was previously employed by South Central Bell, Woodville Heights Baptist Church as Daycare/Church Hostess, as a floral designer for White’s Florist, and as a seamstress. Margaret was a member of First Baptist Church of Byram, where she was a faithful member of the Praise Sunday School Class and served as past president of the WMU. She was also an associate member of First United Methodist Church Richland. She enjoyed studying and teaching the Bible, flower gardening, fishing, playing piano, and butterflies. She was well known for her baking and cooking skills. She always had a kind word of encouragement and loved to send cards and messages to her friends and family. Survivors include son, James L. “Bubba” Watkins, Jr. of Pearl; daughter, Jackie (Robert) Hughes of Clinton; grandchildren, Jason (Christi) Perrett of Florence, Christopher (Becca) Watkins of Pearl, and Jordan (Madi) Douglas and Joshua (Bethani) Douglas of Ferriday, LA; great-grandchildren, Lane Perrett and Levi Perrett of Florence, Cameron Watkins of Milton, FL, Cydnee Watkins and Ruby Anne Murphy of Pearl, Carby Douglas and Jack Douglas of Ferriday, LA. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Byram or First United Methodist Church of Richland Building Fund.
