Lucy Catherine Trebotich, 91, passed away on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at her home in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be held Friday, October 8, 2021 from 5:00 p.m.—7:00 p.m. at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram, MS and again Saturday, October 9, 2021 at St. Therese Catholic Church from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of the service at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson, MS. A resident of Jackson, MS for most of her life, Lucy was born in Biloxi, MS on January 20, 1930. She attended Biloxi High School and worked at the Biloxi Chamber of Commerce. She was a member of Slavonian Lodge, Ladies Auxiliary. She married George A. Trebotich in 1954 at St Michael’s Church in Biloxi, MS. They moved to Jackson and there she was a 67-year charter member of St. Therese Catholic Church, serving on the PTA and Parish Council. She was also a Girl Scout Leader and served in the cafeteria. Anything to help the school and church. She enjoyed watching her boys play football and her girls cheerleading. Lucy and George worked side by side at Trebotich Jewelers on Capital Street for many years and moved the business to Jackson Square where it became Diamond Jewelers. Lucy enjoyed all sports, especially the New Orleans Saints and all 3 Mississippi Universities as she had kids attend all three schools – Ole Miss, Miss. State and Southern Miss. She was known for her kindness and was considered equally as sweet as the desserts and candy she loved. Above all, she loved God and her family. She was an excellent cook, especially Sunday dinner. Along with her husband, George A. Trebotich, Sr., she was preceded in death by her son, George A. Trebotich Jr, brothers Nicholas (K-9) and Steven (Stip) Filipich and sister Jeannette Kuluz. She is survived by sons, Mark Trebotich of Los Angeles, CA, Thomas (Nienke) Trebotich of Miami, FL, and David (Debbie) Trebotich of Piedmont, CA; daughters, Lucy Trebotich of New Orleans, LA, Michele Trebotich of Brandon, MS, and Cindy (Tony) Muscarello of The Woodlands, TX; sister Judy Filipich of New Orleans, LA; 8 grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
