Mr. Leroy Sumrall, 71, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2019 at the VA Nursing Home in Jackson, MS. His family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, April 24th from 10:00 a.m. until the 12:00 p.m. funeral service in the chapel at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. The burial will take place at Glenwood Cemetery in Yazoo City at 2:30 p.m. Leroy was born October 18, 1947 to Travis and Emma Sumrall in Yazoo City, MS. He has called Florence home for the last 12 years, moving here from Houma, LA where he worked for many years in the oilfield. He painted communication water towers and also put up metal building, most recently, he ran the 49 South Flea Market. He enjoyed woodworking and working with his hands. Along with his parents, he is also preceded in death by his sisters, Audry Beavers and Gwendolyn Faye Sumrall. He is survived by his daughter, Kristi (Tim) Rewis of Scott, LA; step-sons, Kelsie (Brittany) Dye of Richland, MS and Shannon (Anita) Brite of Florence; brother, William R. Sumrall of Lafayette, LA; sister, Charlene (Daniel) Biddy of Brandon, MS; grandchildren, Chase, Kayleigh and Hunter (Kylie) Duplantis, Jordon Rewis, Shelby Brite, and Faith (Shawn) Killingsworth; and great grandchildren, Brylee Grace Duplantis, Remington Duplantis, Kooper Duplantis, Konner Thibodeaux and Lilly Killingsworth.
