Mrs. Laverne Rayborn

Edna “Laverne” Rayborn, 90, passed away Saturday, January 27, 2018 at her home in Byram. Visitation will be 5-8pm Monday, January 29 and 10-11 am Tuesday, January 30 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Funeral Services will be 11am Tuesday in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be at First Baptist Church of Byram Cemetery. Mrs. Rayborn was born in Walthall County to the late Linous and Nellie Coon. She was a member at First Baptist Church in Byram for 40 years and taught Sunday School for 20 of those years. Mrs. Rayborn loved her family and cooking. She was an exemplary wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. Mrs. Rayborn volunteered at Willow Creek Nursing Home and VA hospital where she was known as “Chief”. Mrs. Rayborn is preceded in death by her husband Jerome Rayborn, parents, 7 brothers and 1 sister. Survivors include her daughter Patricia (Ken) Churchill of Byram; grandchildren Kenny (Ashley) Churchill, Kevin (Christy) Churchill and Kyle (Renee’) Churchill; great grandchildren Austin Churchill, London Churchill, Hunter Chisholm and Nick Churchill and great-great grandchildren John Hunter Cooper and James Wyatt Churchill.
