Mrs. Laura Jean Gilmore, 79, passed into the arms of Jesus, Thursday, June 27, 2019 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS. The family will receive friends for visitation from 12:00 p.m. until the 2:00 p.m. service on June 29th in the Chapel of Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Burial will follow at Steam Mill Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Union. Mrs. Gilmore was born on June 17, 1940 in Sebastapol, MS to Andrew and Annie Lou Bounds. She was of the Pentecostal faith and a member of the First Apostolic Church in Florence. Mrs. Jean was a loving mother, grandmother and a faithful Church member. She loved sewing, fishing, cooking and shopping and Christmas was her absolute favorite time of the year. She was employed at the Bonds Nursing Home as a Dietician for a number of years. Along with her parents, Mrs. Jean is reunited with her husband, Carl Edwin Gilmore; brother, Buster Bounds; and sister, Ruth Wilson. She is survived by her children: Carl Randall Gilmore of Florence; daughters, Lisa Darnell Singleton (fiancé, George Waltman) of Florence and Tonya Lynn Ham (fiancé, Bobby Anderson) of Brandon; grandchildren, Donovan Singleton, Angel Gilmore and Kayla Gilmore; great-grandchildren, Emmy and Bryson Gilmore and Thomas Lee and Teresa Ann Denton; niece, Linda Marble; nephews, John Sweat, and Currie and Kenny Bounds.
