Mr. Johnny Chaney Byrd Jr.

Mr. John “Johnny” Chaney Byrd, Jr., 65, passed into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at Lakeland Nursing and Rehab. The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday, September 26th from 11:00 a.m. until the 1:00 p.m. Funeral Service at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Burial will follow at Glenwood Memorial Park in Richland. Johnny was born November 29, 1954 to the late John and Lella Byrd in Vicksburg, MS. He moved to Richland as a teenager, and worked as a sign painter. Johnny loved music, especially Jim Croce and The Band and John Prine. He had a big heart and was very generous and he loved to cook and entertain. He also enjoyed genealogy and Civil War history. Johnny is survived by the mother of his children, Debbie Byrd of Richland; sons, John (Nadia) Byrd III of Madison and Robert Lamar Byrd of Richland; grandchildren, Savanna Wilcher, Natalie Wilcher, Coy Crosby and Keaton Zane Scott; and by his sisters, Paula (Larry) Jackson of Sevierville, TN and Sharon (Jimmy) Holmes of Richland.
