Mr. John Benjamin "JB" Macoy

John Benjamin “JB” Macoy 72, passed away Sunday, September 9, 2018 at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Visitation will be held at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence on September 12, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. The funeral will be held at New Covenant Church in Harrisville on September 13 at 11:00 am, followed by a graveside at the Harrisville Cemetery, Harrisville, MS. Mr. Macoy was born July 15, 1946 in Port Gibson, MS to Johnny and Ethel Macoy. He was a resident of Harrisville for 67 years and owned Mid South Tire & Truck Service and Big Creek Cattle Farm. He enjoyed tending to the farm, cutting hay, traveling, reading and watching old western films. JB was a member of Masonic Service Association, Lodge 336, in Harrisville, MS. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Travis Macoy; 2 grandsons; 1 great grandson; brothers, Roger Dale Macoy and Dever Macoy. He is survived by his wife, June Macoy; daughters, Jeannie Knight (Jeff) and Mary Pierce; sons, James Marvin "Jimbo" Macoy (Laurie), Mickey Macoy (Sue) and John Allen Macoy (Sarah); sister, Patsy Shaffer; brother, Alton Macoy and David Macoy; 20 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
