Mrs. Jean Sullivan Cody, 82, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2019 at University Medical Center in Jackson. The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, from 12:00 p.m. until the 2:00 p.m. Funeral Service at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories, next to the funeral home. Mrs. Cody was born in Pinola, MS to Arch Will and Evora Sullivan, and she lived most of her life in the Jackson area. She was and advocate for youth, the handicapped, and for Native American Children. She spent most of her life working with the youth at Holy Ghost Catholic, and with the Boy Scouts of America, and with handicapped wheelchair basketball. Along with her parents, Mrs. Cody is preceded in death by her son, Grant Cody and great granddaughter, Willow Harris. She is survived by her husband, Eddie Lee Jones of Jackson; daughters, Patty Harris of Jackson, Marcia Bullock of Brookhaven, stepchildren, Malcolm Jones, Stanley Wood, Eddie Jones, Jr., Gardner Jones, and Henry Jones; sister, Carmel Carlisle of Starkville; 6 grandchildren, Toni Whitfield, Brandy Harris, Grant Harris, Kammy, Tammy, and Regina and 8 great grandchildren.
