Mr. Eric Lamar Applewhite III

Mr. Eric Applewhite, 63, succumbed to his lengthy battle with cancer on September 27, 2019 surrounded by his family and close friends at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. Per his wishes, the family will receive friends for visitation on Monday, September 30, 2019 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence, MS. He was a courageous man who made a career of putting others before himself. He served 22 years as a fireman with the Jackson Fire Department retiring in 2001. He spent the rest of his years enjoying what he loved to do: hunting and fishing, spending time with his children and grandchildren, and riding his Harley. Eric is preceded in death by his dad, Buddy Applewhite and his grandparents. He is survived by his wife, Cindy Applewhite of Florence; daughter, Lauren (Chris) Daughdrill; son, Corey (Ashley) Applewhite; his four grandchildren, Brayden and Brantley Daughdrill, and Bryson and Sawyer Applewhite; mother, Martha Applewhite; brothers, Mike Applewhite and Tim (Janet) Applewhite; and several nieces and nephews.
