Dorothy June Kendrick, 33, passed away at her home Friday, July 21, 2017. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2017 from 5:00 pm until 7:30 pm and on Friday, July 28, 2017 from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am service, all at Chancellor Funeral Home, 7225 Siwell Road, Byram MS. Burial will follow at Lakewood South Cemetery on McCluer Road in Jackson, MS. Dorothy was born on December 6, 1983, in Natchez, MS to Michael and Susan Johnson and resided in Natchez until 1992, when the family relocated to Jackson. She was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. She had a deep love of God, and she and her husband, Ryan Kendrick, were members of St. Mark's United Methodist Church where she enjoyed singing in the church choir. She will be remembered for her bright personality, infectious laugh, and radiant smile that showed her love for life. She appreciated the small things: a good thunderstorm, cats, salsa dancing, karaoke, SNL, and Billy Madison. She is preceded in death by her brother, Derek Johnson. She is survived by her loving husband, Ryan Kendrick and son, Gabriel Torrence of Brandon; her parents, Michael and Susan Johnson of Ireland; her siblings and their spouses, Deirdre & Larkin Roy of Georgia, David & Emily Johnson of Madison, Deborah & Adam Mitchell of Jackson, Delores & Mike Martin of Ohio, and Daniel & Krystal Johnson of Ridgeland; her nieces and nephews, London Johnson of Georgia, Trinidy, Isak, Elsa, Nora, Mila, and Elias Johnson of Madison, Gage and Bree Mitchell of Jackson, Evan and Brantley Martin of Raymond; Ryan's parents, George and Libbie Kendrick of Brandon; Ryan's sister and brother-in-law, Megan and Chad Darby of Madison; and Ryan's grandmother, Margaret Smith; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to a savings account which will be held in trust for Dorothy's son, Gabriel Torrence.
