Mrs. Doris Lillian Selby

Doris Lillian Selby, 95, passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Willow Creek Nursing Home in Byram, MS. A graveside service will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. Mrs. Selby was born to Willie Ira Hutchison and Bertha Estelle Thompson Hutchison on November 23, 1925 in Choctaw County, MS. She moved to Jackson, MS in 1945 and has been a resident of Byram, MS since 1990. Doris retired from the Mississippi State Department of Education where she was employed as a secretary. After her retirement, she loved being a cashier at the MS Agricultural Museum general store. She was a member of Springridge United Methodist Church. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George J. Selby and her siblings. She is survived by her daughters, Denise (Clay) Cooper of Slidell, LA and Betty (Ottis) Pyron of Jackson; grandchildren, Candace Cooper and Kristen (Chris) Eaton; great-grandchildren, Davis and Parker Eaton; sister, Louise Stephens of Byram; along with a number of nieces and one nephew. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Willow Creek Nursing Home for their care.
