Donald “Don” Ray Walton passed away unexpectantly Thursday, March 18, 2021 at Merit Health Rankin in Brandon. He was 71 years old. The family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday, March 21st from 1:30 p.m. until the 2:30 p.m. Funeral Service all at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Florence. Burial will follow at Clear Branch Cemetery. Don was born August 18, 1949 in Newton, MS to the late Hubert and Johnnie Walton. He was a faithful member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Florence. He worked as a parts manager for Empire Truck Sales and Tri State Truck Center until his retirement in 2011. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, bush hogging and woodworking. He loved his family, especially his granddaughter and namesake, Jessie Rae. Don is survived by his wife of 44 years, Jane Walton of Florence; daughter, Alyson (Curtis) Broadwater of Florence; granddaughter, Jessie Broadwater of Florence; brother, Ronnie Walton of Decatur, MS; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
