David Thomas McGuffee, 76, passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at University Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram, MS from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Due to the current pandemic, 10 people will be allowed in the building at a time and masks are required. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Lakewood South Memorial Park in Jackson, MS. A resident of Terry, MS since 1980, Mr. McGuffee was born on October 10, 1944 in Nottingham, England. He was employed with the State of Mississippi for 27 years as a contractor and owned and operated McGuffee General Construction. He was a Mason of the Capitol Lodge. David loved his horses and for many years, he enjoyed attending the Dixie National Rodeo and wagon trains. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Terry. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Jackie McGuffee; son, Michael McGuffee of Pearl; sister, Maureen Armstrong of Nottingham, England; grandchildren, Brittani, T.J., and London; and great-grandchild, Serena McGuffee. Memorials may be made to St. Jude of the National Kidney Foundation.
