Mr. Danny Eugene Ford

Danny E. Ford, 71, passed away Sunday, September 8, 2019 at his home in Richland. The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday, September 10th from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. and again, on Wednesday, September 11th from 9:00 a.m. until the 10:00 a.m. Funeral Service all at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Burial will follow at Florence City Cemetery in Florence, MS. Mr. Ford was born January 29, 1948 in Rankin County, MS to James and Lula Pope Ford. He lived in Star for most of his early life, before moving to Richland 42 years ago where he was a member of First Baptist Church of Richland. He was retired from Graduate Supply House where he worked in maintenance. Danny loved his family and taking care of them. He enjoyed woodworking, cutting the grass and riding his great grandkids on the lawn mower with him. He also had a good time listening to country music and dancing the 2-step. He was always helping others. He was a man of few words but when he spoke, he was very wise. Along with his parents, Danny is also preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth Overby. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Rena Ford of Richland; daughters, Tammie Ford Atchley of Mendenhall, Jenny (Colby) Griffin of Florence, and Tracey Ford of Richland; brothers, Herchel (Dorothy) Ford of Star, John Robert Ford of Richland, Randall (Dianne) Ford of Jackson, Victor (Cynthia) Ford of Star, and Tommy Ford of Richland; sisters, Gloria Creason of Pinola and Zelphia Smith of Mendenhall; grandchildren, Lauren Smith, Brittany Carlisle, Dillon Leblanc, Danielle Pickell, Hannah Searcy, Jade Griffin, and Dylan Griffin; great grandchildren, Brayden Abercrombie, Makenzie Carlisle, Caleb Smith, Skylar Smith, Elijah McMiller, Samuel Carlisle, and Baby Karter.
