Mr. Cecil Paul Taylor

June 8, 1952 - December 29, 2020

Mr. Cecil Paul Taylor, 68, passed into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at his home in Florence surrounded by his family. The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday, January 2, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. The Service will be at the church at 12:00 noon, followed by burial at Clear Branch Cemetery. Cecil was born June 8, 1952 in Vaiden, MS to the late James and Ethel Taylor. He worked as a sheet metal mechanic with Controlled Air Comfort and Environmental Masters. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Florence and he loved his church dearly. He was a woodworker by trade and his passion was Papaw’s Wood Works. “It was always glued, screwed, and bolted!” He loved his grandchildren, “his girls” and enjoyed Cruisin’ the Coast in his 2004 Monte Carlo. Along with his parents, Cecil was also preceded in death by his brothers, Earl Wayne, Charles, Jimmy Taylor; his sister, Ola Pearl Carmichael; and his son, Shaun Taylor. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Glenda Taylor of Florence; daughter, Shannon Williams of Florence; son, Shane “Bear” Taylor; brothers, James (Beverly) Taylor of Ethel, MS, Jack (Cheryl) Taylor of Murphysboro, TN, Marvin (Jackie) Taylor of Greenville, MS, Bill (Bonnie) Taylor of Florence, and Bob (Teresa) Taylor of Florence; sisters, Mary Ethel Bowles of Vardaman, MS and Betty (Terry) Ellington of Carmack, MS; grandchildren, Lindsey (Calvin) Palmer, Lily Taylor, Brooklyn Williams, Eli Taylor, Christian Taylor, Gracie Taylor, Destiny Pearce, and Ethen Taylor, Abigail Taylor and Dylan Taylor and their mother, Loni Rutland,; and great grandchildren, Shaun Westbrook, Melody Palmer, Eli Palmer, Tinsley Palmer, Paisley Palmer and Haisley Palmer; and a host of nieces and nephews.
