Mrs. Carolyn "Paulette" Shows

April 27, 1950 — November 21, 2019

Mrs. Carolyn Paulette Shows, 69, passed into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center with her family by her side. The family will hold a private graveside service in Covington County. Mrs. Shows was born April 27, 1950 in Seminary, MS and was raised by Velma and James Pickering, Paul Pickering, and Annie Ruth Campbell. She worked as a compliance officer in the banking industry for many years and she was highly respected in her field. She was very devoted to her family. Paulette was a loving wife for over 50 years, and she loved her daughters and her grandchildren deeply. She raised her daughters to be fiercely independent. She had a fighting spirit from the very beginning and that spirit helped her fight one of the longest battles of her life, Parkinson’s Disease. She was one of the youngest patients diagnosed and lived with it for over 30 years. Along with her father, Paul Pickering, Paulette was also preceded in death by her grandparents, Velma and James Pickering. She is survived by her husband, Herman Shows of Florence, MS; daughters, Belinda (Joey) Arender of Franklin, TN and Brandye (Chris) Renfroe of Florence, MS; grandchildren, Blake Arender of Cordova, TN, Brock Arender of Franklin, TN, Ross Renfroe of Florence, MS, and Regan Renfroe of Florence, MS; brothers, Kenny Joe (Marsha) Pickering and Johnnie Earl (Marilyn) Pickering, both of Seminary, MS; aunt, Annie Ruth (Herman) Campbell of Collins, MS; and many other extended family members and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made in her memory to Jones County Community College Foundation (JCJC Foundation, Inc., 900 South Court Street, Ellisville, MS 39437) or Rutherford County Meals on Wheels (325 Saint Clair Street, Murfreesboro, TN 37130).
