Mr. Caley "Joe" Husbands

Caley Joel “Joe” Husbands, 82, passed away Friday, July 7, 2017 at MS Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. Visitation will be 11:30am until the 1:30pm funeral service Sunday, July 9, 2017 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Florence, MS. Mr. Husbands was born in Smith County, MS to the late Henry Caley Husbands and Lilla Mae Glaze Husbands. He lived in Terry for the past 32 years, having worked in law enforcement for the City of Jackson and the VA Hospital. He enjoyed ceramics, stained glass, raising day lilies and always planted a garden. Mr. Husbands loved children and was a member of Griffith Memorial Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Syble Jane Rawson Husbands. Survivors include his wife Henry “Lou” Husbands; step-sons Kenny (Kara) Lollar of Winona and Brian James Bryant of Shreveport, LA; daughter, Jennifer (Michael) Sanders of Brandon; brother, Tony Brooks (Marsha) Husbands of Terry; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
