Mr. Billy Barnett Harris

Mr. Billy Barnett Harris, 88, passed away Sunday, October 14, 2018 at the VA Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be Saturday, October 20th from 1:00 p.m. until the 2:00 p.m. Memorial Service at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Cremains will be inurned at the MS Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Newton at a later date. Mr. Harris loved his family and his friends. He worked as a Printing-shop foreman for Service Printers before retiring and he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army and maintained contact with several of his Army friends. Mr. Harris is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mrs. Allie Russell Harris of Florence; son, Wade (Debbie) Harris of Brandon; daughter, Carol “Teena” (Bill) Thomason of Rogersville, TN; sister, Nell (Roger) Austin of Binghamton, NY; 4 grandchildren, Russell Jones, Ronnie Jones, Daniel Harris and Amanda Harris Bush; and 2 great grandchildren, Harley Bush and Maverick Harris.
