Mrs. Avis Juanita Wallace

Avis Juanita Wallace, age 94, passed away February 27, 2021. A Graveside Service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2021, in the Garden of Memories Cemetery, in Florence, MS. Avis was born November 18, 1926, near Longview, MS. She was the daughter of Landon and Lula Logan McClellan. She married her high school sweetheart, Laymon (Bob) Wallace, in April 1944. She and Laymon moved to Jackson in 1954 and raised their family. In 1994, they retired and moved to Florence, and enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, and gardening. She was an active church member all her life and was a member of Wells Memorial Methodist, Asbury and Victory Congregational Methodist Churches. She is survived by her sons, Randel (Paula) of Madison, and Keith (Judy) of Florence; six grandchildren, Wendy (Brad) Hux, Scott Wallace, Kristopher Wallace, Kayce (Shane) Bills, Laura (Jimmy) Clark, and Melissa (John) Banks; and eight greatgrandchildren. Avis will be greatly missed by her loving family and all that had the privilege of knowing her. Memorials may be sent to French Camp Academy.
