Mrs. Audrey Whittington Hutto

Audrey Whittington Hutto, 94, passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2021. Due to the current pandemic, there will be a private family funeral service on Sunday, January 24, 2021 with Rev. Brad Hartzog officiating. Interment will follow at Lakewood South Memorial Park in Jackson, MS. Mrs. Hutto was born to Earl Dewey Whittington and Susie Sophia Keen Whittington on December 10, 1926 in Jackson, MS, where she spent all of her life. She was a faithful member of Daniel Memorial Baptist Church for 65 years, teaching Sunday School and serving as the nursery director. She retired from Allied Equipment after 30 years of employment. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Elbert S. Hutto, Sr. She is survived by her son, Elbert (Paula) Hutto, Jr. of Jackson; daughters, Susan (James) Hartzog of Clinton and Sharon Cooksey of Florence; grandchildren, Brad (Jennifer) Hartzog, Michelle Johnson, Chris (Allison) Cooksey, Heather (Grant) Giles, Chad (Lana) Hartzog, Holly Cheek, and Elbert Hutto III; 13 great-grandchildren; and first cousin, Virginia Balius. Memorials may be made to Daniel Memorial Baptist Church.
