April 29, 1927 — June 5, 2018

Maxine Gilreath Gann, 91, passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Highland Home in Ridgeland. Visitation will be 11:00am until the 1:00pm funeral service Friday, June 8, 2018 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park. Mrs. Gann was born in Clay County, MS to the late Rufus Milton Gilreath and Frances Ellen Lanham Gilreath. She was a longtime resident of Jackson and member of the former Level Woods United Methodist Church. Mrs. Gann enjoyed her working career as a bookkeeper for the Mississippi Children’s Home Society and Jackson Public Schools. She was a loving, caring lady who put others before herself, especially her family and she was a wonderful cook, homemaker, avid recipe reader and lover of antiques and music. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Bob Gann and all of her siblings. Survivors include her son, James Gann (Tricia) of Jackson; daughter, Cindy Jordan of Pearl; grandchildren, Hunter, Julia, Lauryn, Maggie; two great grandchildren and her best friend Mamie Pitts.
