Mary Beth Tucker

Mary Beth Savell Tucker, 78, passed away Friday, June 22, 2018 at Central MS Merritt Health Hospital in Jackson. Visitation will be Sunday, June 24, 2018 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm and from 10:00 am until 11:00 am on Monday, June 25, 2018. The funeral service will also be at the funeral home at 11:00 am on Monday. A committal service will be on Monday, at 3:00 pm at the Union City Cemetery in Union MS. Mrs. Tucker was a long time resident of Jackson, MS and a member of Raymond Road Baptist Church. She loved her children and grand children. She was a wonderful cook and also enjoyed gardening, decorating, collecting elephants, golf, and traveling with her husband, especially to Alaska. One of her favorite pastimes was playing in golf tournaments with her son. Preceding Mrs. Tucker in death were her parents, Alton and Mildred Savell; her son, David Tucker; and her sister, Brenda Vanlandingham. She is survived by her husband of almost 60 years, Larry Tucker; her son, Darrin (Katie) Tucker of Pearl; her daughter, Lisa (Marc) Mitchell of Denham Springs, LA; sisters, Martha (Richard) Rea of Union and Kathy (Brian) McNeely of Union; grand children, Lauryn Tucker and Kyle Mitchell; and a host of extended family and dear friends.
