Miss Marion Oleta "Leta" Whittington

Marion Oleta “Leta” Whittington, 61, passed away Monday, December 26, 2016 at her home in Jackson. Visitation will be 10am until the 12noon funeral service Saturday, December 31, 2016 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Entombment will be at 2pm Saturday, December 31 at Rosemont Gardens. Leta was born in Jackson, MS to the late Jack S. Whittington, Sr. and Geraldine Scott Whittington. She retired from MS Blood Services where she had worked for 35 years as a Lab Technician. A dedicated and passionate fancier of the giant schnauzer breed since the early 1990’s, Leta was the breeder and/or owner of numerous AKC Champions, including many Top 10 Giant Schnauzers. She was an active member of the Giant Schnauzer Club of America, the South Central Giant Schnauzer Club, the Mississippi State Kennel Club, and the Jackson Obedience Training Club. Survivors include her brother, Jack Whittington, Jr. of Jackson; cousins, John Whittington of Jackson, Brenda Dallas of Pearl and Claudette Dallas Bravo of Metairie, LA.
