Mr. L. V. Morgan Jr.

L.V. Morgan, Jr., 85, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2014 at Crossgates River Oaks Hospital in Brandon. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 15th from 5-7 PM and Wednesday, April 16th from 9 am until the 10 am Funeral Service at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories. A resident of Star for over 30 years, Mr. Morgan was a member of Star Baptist Church and worked and retired from the City of Jackson as a Mechanic. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Morgan is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Carol M. Morgan, and his grandson, Jay Morgan. He is survived by his son, Tony (Jane) Morgan of Florence; daughter, Donna (Thomas) Watkins of Brandon; brother, Ray (Nan) Morgan of Ridgeland; 3 grandchildren, Shanna Gregory, Wade Watkins, and Sara Morrison; and 2 great grandchildren, Tori Morgan and Ava Morrison. In lieu of Flowers, memorials may be made to Gideon’s International (P.O. Box 320944, Flowood, MS 39232) or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
