Mrs. Katherine Nix Parker

Katherine Nix Parker, 91, passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at MS Baptist Medical Center. Visitation will be Saturday, October 28, from 9:30am until 11am funeral service at Chancellor Funeral Home Chapel in Byram, Mississippi. Interment will be at the Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Wesson, MS Mrs. Parker was a member of Hickory Ridge Baptist Church in Florence and a former member of Southside Baptist Church in Jackson. She was employed by Packard Electric until she retired. She was married to Marion “Chief” Parker for 65 years and was lovingly known to many as “Granny”. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion “Chief” Parker; her parents, Addison and Iantha Nix; and her daughter in law Kay Parker. Survivors include daughter, Patsy (Bo) Prisock of Florence; sons, Franky (Ethel) Parker of Wesson, MS; Robby (Mary) Parker of Brandon, Mickey Parker of Madison, and Ronnie Michael (Janet) of Knoxville, TN; sisters, Elouise Jordan of Ellisville, MS and Doris Majure of Quitman, MS; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hickory Ridge Baptist Church Building Fund at 319 Hickory Ridge Road, Florence, MS 39073.
