Mrs. Jeanette Baker

February 22, 1926 — November 10, 2017

Mrs. Jeanette Hollingsworth Baker, 91, was born on February 22, 1926 in Lake Providence, LA to Dillon and Florence Hollingsworth. She peacefully entered Heaven’s gates from her home on Friday, November 10, 2017. She served the Lord faithfully as a member of Daniel Memorial Baptist, Woodville Heights Baptist and for the last 50 years at First Baptist Church of Byram where she served many years as a second grade Sunday school teacher. She retired in 1991 following 17 years as secretary of Byram Attendance Center. She is preceded in death by her husband, Leslie; grandson, Jeremy Toole; her parents; and ten brothers and sisters. She is survived by her children; Kaye (Thomas) Kelly, Kathy (Edward) Hollingsworth, Karyn (Eddie) Toole, Julie (Barney) Bronson, Todd (Marie) Baker; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one brother, Paul R. (Pat) Hollingsworth. A celebration of her life will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, November 13, 2017 at First Baptist Church of Byram. Visitation will also be held at the church on Sunday, November 12 from 4:00pm – 8:00pm and on Monday from 10:00am until 1:00pm. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice in her honor.
