Mrs. Estell Gibbon Willis

March 13, 1935 — November 29, 2017

After a brave fight with AML, Edna Estell Gibbon Willis, 82, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at MS Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. Visitation will be 10am until the 12:00 noon funeral service Saturday, December 2, 2017, at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Interment will follow at Rosemont Gardens. Mrs. Willis lived in the Jackson area since 1958 and was an active member of Oak Forest Baptist Church. She was a charter member of the Central Chapter of Medical Assistants, Veterans Affairs Advisor at Hinds Community College and active in her Homeowners Association. Mrs. Willis was a strong person who loved her family, gardening, photography and was a wonderful cook. She retired from University Medical Center as Office Manager for the Department of Otolaryngology. She is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, one sister and husband of 47 years, Max Gene Willis. Survivors include her son, Tim (Joy) Willis of Raymond; daughters, Beth (George) Sansing of Byram and Linda (Charles) Sullivan of Satsuma, AL; sister, Ruth (Bill) Matlock of Newton County, MS; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
