Mrs. Dorothy Marie George

Dorothy Marie “Dot” Winstead George, 84, passed away Friday, June 2, 2017 at Willow Creek Nursing Home in Jackson. Visitation will be Thursday, June 8 from 1:00-1:45pm at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence with a 2pm graveside service at Briar Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. George was born in Crossroads, MS to the late Hardy and Gladys Winstead. She was a longtime member of D’Lo Baptist Church. Dot was a great Christian lady who loved her family and grandchildren. She also made the best fried chicken in town. Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband, Earl George, son: Steven Sullivan and daughter: Sherry Creel. She is survived by her son: David Sullivan and wife Judy of Byram; step-son: Harold George and wife Betty of Starkville; step-daughter: Marsha Kellum of Clinton; brother: James Winstead of Hattiesburg; 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
