Mr. Don Devon Norred

Don Devon Norred, 88, passed away Thursday, December 11, 2014 at Clinton Healthcare in Clinton. Visitation will be Sunday, December 14th from 5pm until 7pm and Monday, December 15th from 10am until the 11am service at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Burial will follow at Dry Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Florence. Mr. Norred was born and raised in Louisiana but has lived in Clinton for 10 years moving from Florence. He was an active member of Dry Creek Baptist Church where he was very involved with the church and helping with repairs and maintenance. He loved to build and could build anything. He was on a Championship Basketball team in 1942-1943 and was a Veteran who proudly served his country in WWII. Mr. Norred is preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Norred and his son, Kenny Williams. He is survived by his sons, Danny Williams (Carol) of Clinton and Don C. Williams (Elethia) of Smyrna, TN; daughters, Linda Collett (Larry) of Clinton and Becky Moore (Oliver) of Clinton; daughter in law, Karen Williams of GA; brother in law, Joe Hawkins (Sherry) of Indianola, MS; 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Dry Creek Baptist Church.
