Mr. Clyde Ervin Burkette

Mr. “Clyde” Ervin Burkette, 89, passed away at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson on Saturday, September 26, 2015. He was a member of Holly Grove Baptist Church in Braxton. He was a WWII Veteran and served in the Philippines. He loved to hunt, play golf and enjoyed outings with his wife. Mr. Burkette retired from the Illinois Central Railroad. Visitation will be Monday, September 28th from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and Tuesday, September 29th beginning at 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Funeral Service at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories. He is survived by loving wife of 28 years, Shirley; 2 sisters, Carolyn Hawkins of Gluckstadt and Mary Evans of Ridgeland; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
