Charlie Sykes Jackson Charlie Alvin Sykes, 69, passed away Saturday April 7, 2018, at Veterans Administration Hospital in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be 5-8 pm Monday, April 9, 2018 at the Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Services are at 12:00 pm, Tuesday April 10, 2018 at Country Woods Baptist Church with visitation one hour prior to service. Interment will follow in Lakewood Memorial Park South Cemetery, Jackson, MS. Charlie was born in Star, MS and currently lived in Jackson, MS. He was a member of Country Woods Baptist Church. Charlie was loved by all who knew him. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett “Bud” and Annie Ruth Sykes; son, Ralph Sykes; grandson, John Sykes and sister, Carolyn Shaw. Survivors include his wife, Sue Sykes of Jackson; son, Kevin (Tamara) Sykes of Jackson; Daughter, Stephanie (Ron) Rester of Jackson; Brother, Calvin (Bell) Sykes of Flora; sister, Mildred Martin of Crystal Springs, 5 grandchildren Kasey (Michael) Adair, Brittney (Michael) Beauvais, Victoria (Trevor) Williams, Devon (Monica) Sykes, Christian Sykes; 7 great grandchildren and a host of nieces an nephews.
