Bill began his career in Funeral Service as a High School junior in Thomasville, AL at O'Bryant Chapel. Upon graduation, he moved to Birmingham, where he worked at Ridouts Gardendale Chapel Funeral Home and completed his education at Jefferson State School of Mortuary Science. Bill moved to Jackson in 1980 and has been serving the Jackson Metro area in funeral service since.

Following in his father's footsteps, Bill has worked toward a Degree in Theology at New Orleans Baptist Seminary and has preached at many churches in the central Mississippi area. Bill was recently elected at Secretary Treasurer of the Mississippi Funeral Directors Association, he is a member of the National Funeral Directors Association, the Mississippi Coroner Medical Examiner Association and is currently on the Advisory Board for Holmes Community College School of Mortuary Science and Compassionate Friends, Jackson Chapter. He serves as a deputy coroner of Rankin County.

Bill is married to the former Sandra Tingle of Jackson. They have six children and five grandchildren. Bill and Sandra are active members of Country Woods Baptist Church.

Sandra Chancellor

Sandra is the office administrator at Chancellor Funeral Home and is the wife of owner, Bill Chancellor. She has held her funeral director's license since 1984, to one day work with Bill at a firm of their own. Sandra graduated from Hinds Community College in 1983 with a degree in nursing, and has been employed by Hinds General Hospital, Mississippi Baptist Medical Center-Home Health, and most recently, Lakeshore Clinic in south Jackson. Her experience with assisting families with acute and chronic illnesses in the Emergency Department and in Home Health, have helped her prepare for her current position at the funeral home.

Sandra and Bill have six children: Josh, Ashley, Allie, Jenny, Katie and Zach, along with five grandchildren.

Jenny Chancellor Wooten

Jenny is a native of Jackson and a 2002 graduate of Terry High School, Hinds Community College, and The Academy of Hair Design. She is currently working toward her funeral directors license and is a licensed insurance agent. Her goal is to pursue the funeral service profession and presently assists people through advances planning and after care services. On November 10, 2007, she married Chris Wooten and they reside in Brandon. She is currently expecting their first child, Brady in October. She loves her dogs, decorating her new home, Christmas, and movies such as the Note Book and Steel Magnolias.

Zach Chancellor

Zach is a graduate of Terry High School and is currently attending Hinds Community College. He is the youngest son of Bill and Sandra Chancellor. He presently works part time at the funeral home whenever needed. Zach enjoys tennis and golf and coaches an Upward flag football team at Country Woods Baptist Church.

Roland Dear

Roland has worked along side Bill Chancellor since the planning stages of Chancellor Funeral Home/Garden of Memories. He currently serves as an assistant funeral director and as a pre-need counselor. Roland is licensed by the state of Mississippi to sell insurance and is authored by the Secretary of State for pre-need sales.

Roland is a life-long resident of the Florence area. Being blessed with a wonderful voice, he enjoys singing gospel music and has served in several churches in Rankin and Copiah County as Minister of Music. Roland is married to the former Bobbie Harper and together they have 5 children and 11 grandchildren.

Joyce Lott

Joyce has served as secretary of Chancellor Funeral Home of Byram since 2006. Joyce’s past work experience had been in the medical field where she also used her skills of providing caring service to others. She and her husband Winston also co-own a restaurant in the Byram Community where they have lived for the past twelve years. They have one son, Jason, a graphic designer with an advertising firm. Joyce is a member of Lakeshore Methodist Church and enjoys taking care of her family and home.

Arthur (Art) L. Land

Art started his career in funeral service in 1978 at Roesch Patton Doris & Charlton Funeral Service in Nashville, Tennessee while attending John A. Gupton School of Mortuary Science. Since that time, he has worked in Mississippi, Arkansas and Louisiana in the capacities of Funeral Director and Embalmer, Insurance and pre-need sales, monument sales and installation, funeral supply sales and cremationist. Art also serves as pastor of Central Baptist Church of Byram, MS.

He has been married to the former Anne Stringer of Forest, Mississippi for 32 years. Anne is a Barksdale reading coordinator in the Jackson Public School system. They have three sons whose careers vary; Trae a commercial diver, Jeff a Baptist minister, and Bobby a policeman and 2 new grandchidren.

Sheila Gates

Sheila a native of Puckett, MS has worked in the funeral industry since 1986. She works at Chancellor Funeral Home as a Pre-need counselor, which she considers her ministry to help families select services prior to death. Being a licensed Funeral Director, she is able to assist not only the pre-need but at-need also.

She is the wife of Scotty Gates. She and Scotty have 3 children and 4 grandchildren.

Kenny Culpepper

Kenny, came to Chancellor Funeral Home in 2005 with over 30 years experience as a licensed Funeral Home Director and Embalmer both in MS and AR. He is a graduate of Dallas Institute and Mortuary Science as well as a graduate of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He is currently the pastor of Lifesong Church in Florence. He is married to Stephanie and they have one daughter, Kenna.

His hobbies include hunting and fishing and going on mission trips.

Linda Rodgers Massengill

Linda is a native and life-long resident of Rankin County, living presently in Florence. She is a graduate of MS College with a BS degree in Business Education. She is married to Jimmy Massengill and has three children and 4 grandchildren. She loves spending quality time with grandchildren and family and as time permits she paints and loves to read.

David L. Watts

David L. Watts of Byram graduated in May 2009 from mortuary school at Holmes Community College in Ridgeland, Miss. While there, David was a member of Phi Theta Kappa and received the Distinguished Merit Award in 2008 for academic excellence. In 2009, he was presented the Gale M. Galloway Memorial Award by the Miss. Funeral Directors Association as the outstanding student of the year in the mortuary department.

Prior to entering the funeral service industry, David worked for 37 years with the Miss. Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks where he was the editor of Mississippi Outdoors magazine. He retired in August 2005. He is also the co-author of Birds of Mississippi, published in 1999 by University Press of Mississippi.

Presently, David is employed as a funeral director and embalmer with Chancellor Funeral Home. He and his wife Terry attend Alta Woods Baptist Church in south Jackson.
